“Kindle Prepare to Die” – iPad

// January 27th, 2010 // No Comments » // Article, Blog, Branding, Entertainment, Featured Articles, Gear, Tech

Well after years of speculation, mystery, rumors, gossip, trademarks, false domain registry and consumer brouhaha the Apple i…i…iPad is here! What, the heck? The iPad?!?! Oh well I guess we will just have to get over that one. This little plastic, chrome and glass device is going to change the world one more time and its not going to take years like the iPod. I could talk about features and functionality until my fingers are bleeding and your eyes develop cataracts but lets save us all time and pain with the official Apple iPad video(HD of course!). See the video and more photos after the jump.

Bumptop Desktop in Action!

// January 21st, 2010 // No Comments » // Article, Blog, Cool Site, Featured Articles, Freebies, Tech

Every month I see newly released software for the mac. Typically these gimmicky software additions are no more useful than braille on a drive-thru ATM. However, every so often I come across something that should ship with every new computer because it makes one’s life 0.00001% easier (in this case through organization). Okay I’m done with my rant, the software you should try (FREE for 30 days, $29 for the pro version) is called BumpTop from, you guessed it, Bump Technologies. (more…)

Apple’s Magic Mouse

// October 21st, 2009 // No Comments » // Blog, Gear, Tech

The Apple store was down yesterday morning which means only one thing…new products. Apple unveiled its new Magic Mouse set to replace the current Apple Mighty Mouse. New Features of this Apple classic include: laser tracking, multi-touch surface, on/off switch and better blue tooth connectivity strength (33 ft). Here is part of the Gizmodo hands-on review.

Is this the best mouse Apple has ever made? Yeah, it is. The Magic Mouse is much better than the Mighty Mouse, which people hated, and might actually be good enough that non-Mac users might want to pick it up as well, supposing that they don’t really care about ergonomics. Since it fills the gap between a tiny travel mouse and a full sized desktop mouse, the Magic is in a good position to grab users on both ends.

Facebook Coming to Xbox

// October 19th, 2009 // No Comments » // Blog, Hands On, Tech

Microsoft and Facebook have joined forces to bring us the beta release of Facebook on Xbox. If you would like a chance to see the new software release before the public release then click the trial link and sign yourself up. Beware of the new beta software, Microsoft is very adamant that you know this new software could “damage your console or render your Xbox inoperable” like we need another RRD (red ring of death) to deal with. Ill post an update after reviewing the new FB software in its entirety. Also coming soon to Xbox: Zune HD Video Store, Twitter and Last.fm.

Poll of the Week: Apple iTablet

// September 30th, 2009 // No Comments » // Blog, Tech

Would you buy the Apple iTablet? Rumored to be revealed in January or February of 2010 this might be the next big thing from Apple! If Apple does make an iTablet you would not see it on shelves until June or July of 2010. I hope they make one. UPDATED: The announcement is set for tomorrow, all clues are hinting to the new iTablet, iSlate or iNote to be unveiled tomorrow during Apple’s Event. Also rumored to show up is the new iPhone OS 4.0 and the possibility of the iPhone heading to multiple carriers? VERIZON! I really hope so!

The Value of a Helmet

// September 22nd, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Blog, Gear, Tech

I learned last night(the hard way) that a helmet might come in handy especially when your head decides its wants to take a swan dive into the frozen tundra of an ice skating rink. Knowing what I know now I should have been wearing some type of protective gear to shield myself in case of a head-ice collision. Now that I have done my research I will probably be picking up one of these Bauer 9500 Helmets. The main selling point for me is the impact absorption (duh!), I mean it is a helmet after all and that should be a key component in your decision making process. The Bauer 9500 transmits 20% less energy versus a traditional helmet with its new FXPP foam liner. You can pick one up at Amazon for just $99.00, heck you might as well buy two.
