OkGo new video – This too shall pass

// March 2nd, 2010 // 1 Comment » // Entertainment, Featured Articles, Video

The new music video from okgo is sure to go viral. Their use of abstract objects to create long drawn out sequences flowing to their new music is sweet and noteworthy. This is not the first time the band has focused on the design of their video rather than the music itself. Still pretty amazing. Check out the video after the jump!

Well after years of speculation, mystery, rumors, gossip, trademarks, false domain registry and consumer brouhaha the Apple i…i…iPad is here! What, the heck? The iPad?!?! Oh well I guess we will just have to get over that one. This little plastic, chrome and glass device is going to change the world one more time and its not going to take years like the iPod. I could talk about features and functionality until my fingers are bleeding and your eyes develop cataracts but lets save us all time and pain with the official Apple iPad video(HD of course!). See the video and more photos after the jump.

…a look back and a peek at London 2012.

The Olympics are just around the corner so we thought we would share with our readers the past 10 years in Olympic Logo Design. It is very interesting to see how design styles have changed over the last decade and how each country uses color, style and typography in their designs. If you’d like to read more on Olympic design check out our posting of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Medal Design. Check them out after the jump.

16 Stunning Infographics

// January 11th, 2010 // No Comments » // Article, Featured Articles

Informational graphics or “info-graphics” for short is the next wave in the graphic design space. Info-graphics is the design and layout of information using visual cues and tools. While info-grahics are not new by any means designers are beginning to specialize in this particular field. These types of graphics can be found in magazines, on websites and even t-shirts. I have assembled 16 examples ranging from information on population densities in the United States to macbook’s highest price points by country. This is the future of information.

Photoshop Posters

// January 8th, 2010 // No Comments » // Article, Featured Articles

I love using Adobe Photoshop, not quite as much as Illustrator but it’s a close second like Canada or generic cereal. The tools, effects, patters and styles of PS allow me to create artwork (…if you can call it that) as I please without fear of permanent mistakes (I dedicate a lot of space on my HD to saving PS and AI files). Here is a small sampling of my work that I do for a local church’s youth group. See the posters after the jump.

Interview with Designer Andrea Austoni

// January 5th, 2010 // 6 Comments » // Article, Featured Articles

I recently had the privilege of interviewing one of my favorite graphic designers – Andrea Austoni of Cute Little Factory. I employed Andrea to create a set of camping icons a few months back and was very impressed by his professionalism and creativity. Its not every day you are able to find a designer that can take your ideas and re-create them as perfect little illustrations. Andrea currently works as a freelance graphic designer specializing in icon design and illustration in Krakow, Poland. He was gracious enough to let me interview him for this blog. Andrea offers some unique perspectives on design, the culture surrounding design and how he gets inspired by the world around him in this interview. Please read the full transcript after the jump.
